Chelan and Family

By the time with left the Cascades, beautiful though they are, we were looking forward to some family time. First, however, came the shock at how quickly the rain forests and alpine zones gave way to a the high desert and familiar sights.

Irrigated fields about 30 minutes from Rainy lake

Our good fortune found us in the company of Louisa's grandparents, aunt, uncle and their two AWESOME kids! Plus, the setting was the third deepest lake in the US, lake Chelan.

The view from our room - pool, hot tub and lake all in sight

Swimming, eating, visiting and baby time was how we spent our long weekend in Chelan and later Yakima.

We had a wonderful time with Rachel, Erik, Darleen, Doug, Eliza and Mitchell and are so appreciative of everything they did for us. It was definitely hard to leave and only the prospect of seeing more family made it happen.
